This site is dedicated to the breeding of the Thoroughbred racehorse. The information contained herein is correct to the best of my knowledge and any conjecture is clearly labelled as such.

All dates quoted on this site are Julian until 02nd September 1752 and Gregorian from the next day 14th September 1752.

All years quoted on this site are historical and no double dating has been used except in the notes.

The age of a horse was calculated from 01st May each year until 31st December 1833 at Newmarket and until 18th April 1858 elsewhere in Great Britain and Ireland.

The age of a horse has been calculated from 01st January each year since 01st January 1834 at Newmarket and since 19th April 1858 elsewhere in Great Britain and Ireland.
