Rumba, the dam of Romul, is
entered in pre-WW2 Yugoslavia Stud Book as barren in 1940, after which
there is no trace of her in post-WW2 Stud Books. Both Rumba and Romul
were presumed lost in WW2.
Simplon entered the stud in
Yugoslavia in 1939, and his last foals are recorded in the Stud Book in
1945.
Ramurica, a daughter of Rumba, is
listed in Toru Shirai's Family Tables of Racehorses as being
foaled in 1942, and sired by Simplon. It seems that Rumba was covered by
Simplon and then sent from Yugoslavia to Romania, where she entered the
stud.
In Romania Ramurica produced
Ramurea, who in turn produced Rozica, thus continuing the line of the
famous Kincsem. |
