Darley Arabian. First called Whitefoot,
he was bred by William Capell (1697-1743), 3rd Earl of
Essex, and owned successively
by Sir Edmund Bacon for whom he ran in 1737 and 1738, Mr Grisewood
and Viscount Weymouth. His dam, Lord Byron's Sparkler
[ex-Maidenhead] also produced Mr Greville's Grantham (b
c 1741 Hip). He had a satisfactory turf career, defeating,
among others, Cupid (b c 1736 Somerset Arabian), a son of the illustrious mare,
Bald Charlotte (ch f 1721 Old Royal). He died in 1741 after running a trial.
His death was recorded at the bottom of an engraving.

Won £40 at York distancing 3 others.
Won the Ladies' Purse of £90 at Lincoln, beating
Sir Michael Newton's Spot (b c Bethell's

Arabian). Won the 30gs at Denbigh, Wales,
beating Mr Williams's Young Squirrel.
Finished 2nd for a 40gs plate, won by Mr
Panton's Cato (b c
1731 Partner), beating Lord

distanced after throwing his rider. Won the 50gs
