Pipe-En-Bois*
Pipe-en-Bois was a half-bred mare sired by the Anglo Arab, Rubis, out of an
unnamed Mare by Gaslight. She was imported from France to Argentina by
Mr. P. Dhers, in 1888. The modern taproot mare for this female
family, Cobeña (Arg), was imported to Uruguay in
September 1940 by Mr. Augusto Sbárbaro, owner of
Haras 18 de Julio. Cobeña was a foundation mare at haras
Uruguay where this relatively strong female family was
developed during the twentieth century.
This family was identified by
Gustavo Mèndez and Tom Viebke in 2001. You are welcome to use the
number if you wish.
