Bred and raced by Fulke Greville (1717-1806) of Wilbury House, in Newton Toney, Wiltshire, she was sold in 1761 to Frederick St John (1748-1787), 2nd Viscount Bolingbroke, for whom she ran her final race of 1761 and her only race of 1762. Between 1759 and 1761, she won three races for 200 guineas each at Newmarket.

In the stud she produced her first two foals in 1757 and 1758. After the interval on the turf she produced eleven foals, from 1763 to 1778. Among her distinguished descendants was Eleanor (b f 1798 Whiskey), the first filly to win both the Derby and Oaks Stakes. Priam (b c 1827 Emilius) and Phantom (b c 1808 Walton) were both Derby winners and Champion sires. Sorcerer (bl c 1796 Comus) was a Champion sire, and Langar (ch c 1817Selim) proved to be a worthy stallion.
